6/25/2007 | FULL SURNAME SYSTEM RELEASED |
---|---|
Your friendly neighborhood surname office is ready to accept requests for new names and name changes! In addition to the existing options, you may now ASK the clerk to CREATE a name if you don't already have one, or CHANGE your name to something new.
Q: What's this Lord/Lady jazz? A: Characters who are creating a new name or changing to an unregistered name must be at least level 20. Characters under level 20 can still take on a name being shared by the leader of a group, or take on their spouse's name. Q: Will I need money for this? A: Creating a surname is FREE of charge. Changing a surname will cost 50,000 silvers to Basic subscribers, and 5,000 silvers to Premium subscribers. Registration will still cost 100,000 to Basic and 10,000 to Premium. Q: I just created a really foul-mouthed name and the clerk let me do it. You have to let me keep it, right? A: Remember that POLICY 6 still applies to both characters' first names and surnames, and GMs will be monitoring names coming out of this system. You may be asked, or forced, to change your name at any time. Q: I just saw somebody with a really foul-mouthed name! How can I tattle on them right away? A: Please DO NOT use BADNAME to alert staff to inappropriate surnames. BADNAME should be used for characters' first names only. Instead, you may REPORT names that very clearly violate our naming standards policy. (Note that whimsically silly names that do not comport with your unquestionably awesome taste are not necessarily in gross violation.) Q: I like my last name, but I wish I could change the capitalization. A: When creating or changing a name, make sure to type it EXACTLY as you wish it to appear. The system is somewhat flexible with regard to mixed capitalization, so that if for example you wished to change "Davinci" to "daVinci", you may do so. Registered names consider all capitalized forms of the name to be the same, so such a change would not require you to re-register, and a registration of "daVinci" prohibits anyone else from choosing "Davinci". Q: Punctuation? A: Limited use of apostrophes and hyphens is permitted. However, don't go overboard or the clerk will deem your name gibberish. Q: Where do I go to take advantage of these fine services? A: Surname offices may be found at: Wehnimer's Landing: Moot Hall, Upstairs Corridor - a wide archway Icemule Trace: Clovertooth Hall, Clerks Suite - an arched oaken door Solhaven: North Market Pier - a salt-stained shack River's Rest: River Road - a small wooden cottage Teras Isle: Golvern and Dragonstail - a dark cave Zul Logoth: Crystalline Cavern - a rusty metal door Ta'Illistim: BriarStone Keep - a small stone cottage Ta'Vaalor: Wyvern Keep, Lobby - a glass-paned door Cysaegir: Copse - a low stone gate Four Winds Isle: Honeysuckle Avenue - a green-shuttered cottage Q: Awesome! A: Word. |

6/18/2007 | NECROMANTIC ACTIVITY REPORTED OUTSIDE OF WEHNIMER'S |
Reports began to appear in the early morning of a small army of animates besieging Wehnimer's Landing on the 18th of Lumnea. While caught by surprise, the city had an adequate amount of defenders and the invading forces were quickly subdued. Sleepy, the West Gate Guard, reports happily that no animated beings made it past his watch. Members of the Voln monastery on the outskirts of town had also responded to the invading forces, but claim to have not encountered any undead. The monks concluded that it was likely the army of some sorcerer dabbling in necromancy. This mysterious sorcerer, whoever he may be, was nowhere in sight. | |

6/10/2007 | DIPLOMATIC VISIT TURNS UGLY! |
A diplomatic visit and tour, hosted by Mayor Stennis for Eldalina of Teras Isle, turned ugly in Wehnimer's Landing today. The initial pleasantries and harmonious atmosphere of the visit were shattered when Eldalina formally requested the return of artifacts on loan to the Wehnimer's Museum. Mayor Stennis was obviously distressed, while the museum's curator, Ephria, was outraged. Insults flew between the two women, soon turning to fisticuffs. Both the mayor and his honor guard were injured in their attempts to separate the combative females.
At first, the visit was quite peaceful, with Mayor Stennis guiding diplomatic liaison Eldalina around town. Honor Guard Cyrdangeer, an Issimir giantman here as a volunteer member of the Wehnimer's Landing constabulary force, was on hand for their protection. So efficient was he in his duties that one of the citizens was forcefully wrestled to the ground and arrested for an outstanding warrant. The cordial event turned even more friendly after a brief stop at Helga's pub. Several citizens were on hand to pay their respects to both dignitaries. One generous lady went so far as to lend silvers to the mayor for the purchase of refreshments. Once the party reached the Wehnimer's Museum, however, the mood quickly changed. Eldalina's formal request for return of the items on loan from Stormbrow Museum led to embarrassment on the part of the mayor and outrage from the museum's curator, Ephria. Emotions ran high as verbal insults soon gave way to kicks, hair pulling, biting, and punching. Mayor Stennis and Honor Guard Cyrdangeer were hard put to separate the two. Eventually, Ephria was physically dragged away and the mayor's party quickly left the scene. At the docks, Mayor Stennis and Eldalina agreed to meet in one week's time to discuss the details of the arrangements. While the mayor seemed hopeful of compromise, Eldalina appeared steadfast in her position that all items be returned immediately. |

6/5/2007 | INQUISITION OF AN INQUISITOR |
Word from the Imperial Court this evening states that His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Aurmont Anodheles, has agreed to review the new evidence brought forward today by The Honorable Salnim Malwind--against the advice of the imperial inquisitors--and would hear out the explanation told by the embattled Baron's son. His Imperial Majesty states that in order for justice to be served honorably, and within the confines of imperial law, all evidence must be exhausted before a ruling should even remotely be considered.
Further, His Imperial Majesty has sent out a written request for former Inquisitor Wurmth Murluth to appear before the Imperial Court this evening, and to offer his services to the Empire once more. Former Inquisitor Wurmth will be expected to question both Salnim Malwind and Inquisitor Usyian Denturei regarding this recent twist in what was considered by court-confidants as an easy inquisition. It should be noted that former Inquisitor Wurmth Murluth came under scrutiny in the last year of his service to the Empire before retirement for what some considered questionable tactics during questioning, but he held an impeccable record throughout all his years of discovering truth and facts. >news next There are also rumors that the widow of former Imperial Blades guard Terrune Metharnonne' is expected to arrive within Tamzyrr to the Imperial Court later this evening. If this is indeed true, she may also be facing a visit with the former Inquisitor. |

6/5/2007 | CONTROVERSY ERUPTS IN THE IMPERIAL COURT |
Controversy erupted today in the Imperial Court of the Turamzzyrian Empire. Read more about it here: http://www.play.net/gs4/news.asp?id=60. | |
6/1/2007 | CELEBRATIONS SPREAD ACROSS EMPIRE |
Celebrations stretched across the Turamzzyrian Empire yesterday with the investiture ceremony of Baroness Delphinuria Hochstib. Upon receiving the baronial coronet, Baroness Hochstib of Jantalar has assumed all rights and legal holdings of her deceased brother, Baron Lerep Hochstib. In her speech to the people of Jantalar, Her Excellency espoused a positive attitude, and announced Jantalar's venture into a new era of imperial excellence and commonality.
In the newly re-established Barony of Mestanir, citizens were overjoyed with the news that His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Aurmont Anodheles, has picked a Baron to lead Mestanir to future prosperity. The investiture ceremony took place in Tamzyrr itself shortly after Emperor Anodheles revealed his appointee, Lord Seurdyn Chydenar. Seurdyn Moraughton Chydenar was born on the 5th of Eoanatos, 5070 in the South Hendoran city of Waterford. His parents, Tydaen Chydenar and Delinea Moraughton, are still alive and living within his birth city. Seurdyn became interested in the arcane arts in the early years of his life, and was sent to Nydds to attend studies in the Hall of Mages. He aspired to be a member of the Imperial Drakes, and became an apprentice to one of its members for a short period of time. As he reached his adult life, his interest shifted slightly and he joined Chantry College, where he became a close confidant of the future Emperor Anodheles. After he graduated from Chantry College, Seurdyn left his home barony and moved to the city of Mestanir--then under Jantalarian control. There, Seurdyn became involved with local politics and other organizations. Rumors suggest he became involved with an underground hedgewizard group and led several attacks against the Mandis Crystal, but no proof of this has surfaced. He also met a woman by the name of Sionwryn Nesbithe, a daughter of a prominent hedgewizard family. Shortly after the Jantalarian army was pushed from Mestanir, Sionwryn's exiled family was able to return, and Seurdyn asked her father for her hand in marriage. Baron Chydenar of Mestanir spoke at his investiture ceremony of a new time for the Mestanir people. And while he understood the past of Mestanir, he stated that in order for it to grow, and be prosperous and unified with the empire, the time of secret spellcasting must come to an end. His Excellency is expected to ease the spellcasting community into the registration of the Hall of Mages, and, with the aide of Lady Sionwryn and her family, he is predicted to be successful. Other news from Tamzyrr, the Imperial Inquisitors have finally returned home from their venture out into the empire. Their arrival was delayed due to treacherous weather on the main paths. The inquisitors are expected to draft their final report regarding the embattled Baron Malwind of Vornavis and hand it over to the Emperor within a few days. |
