5/31/2002 | Borthuum Company Announcement |
---|---|
In the interest of citizen happiness, the Borthuum Clan has decided to push
the Glaesen Star slightly faster during the Hot Summer months. The clan does
this with another purpose in mind, however. We wish to see if a passenger-only
ship would be profitable to the Clan in the future.

5/30/2002 | HSN Release: New Profession Titles |
The Council of Guilds has heard the various pleas and proposals from its
membership on the lack of ranking titles for its members, and thus hereby decrees:
Henceforth, let it be known that each Profession Guild may establish a wider-range naming system for its membership, for those members who reach a specific level within the guild. |
|
5/30/2002 | HSN Release: New Prep Messaging |
The Council of Guilds have heard replies about current spell casting methods
being too confusing, and too hard to recognize distinct patterns between the
Spell Circles. Through long research, the Guild Leaders have finally discovered
a way to differentiate between the Spell Circles by redesigning the initial gesture
of a spell, and adding uniqueness to each Circle.
Henceforth, all spell preparations shall be based upon its Circle, and the Guild Leaders have also noted that there will be a slight difference between the way threatening and non-threatening spells are to be prepared. Note: The Bard Guild Leader would like to be noted saying that they did not participate in this research, as Bard Spellsong preparation already has a recognized pattern. |

5/26/2002 | FLoating Disks Enhanced |
The Floating Disk (511) spell has been updated to meet the specifications given in the online documentation. This update primarily added colorful desciptions to disks for Wizards. The disks for other professions will remain the same as before. These disks hold no more or less than they did previously. All disks, regardless of the description, have the same carrying capacity. The only difference is the description. | |
5/21/2002 | Wehnimer's Landing Services [IMPORTANT] |
Wehnimer's Landing has burned to the ground, and a number of the services previously
located there are difficult to find.
Banks: The rubble around the bank was cleared away and the building reopened, but soon after the roof collapsed killing several inside. The town government is inquiring about what is needed for further repairs. Until such time as the bank is once again recovered, Landing banks accounts are available via banks in the caravansary and in River's Rest. Character Manager: Frith's Inn in Wehnimer's Landing survived the fires. Access to training and other character management is available there. Additionally, the Raging Thrak Inn was found to have survived the fire, albeit a bit scarred. Citizens of Wehnimer's Landing cleared away the rubble, and the Warrior Raging Thrak was found drinking away his woes in the Hanging Inn and was henceforth persuaded to come back when he was told his Inn was not destroyed. (New character generation has been temporarily suspended in Wehnimer's Landing.) Gem/Fur/Treasure sales: These services are not available. We recommend adventurers travel to other nearby cities in order to engage in such transactions. Weapon/Armor/Equipment purchases: The Cleric Shop was thankfully spared from the destruction due to its location near the temple and the stalwart efforts of the town defenders. There is no equipment for sale in Wehnimer's Landing. We recommend adventurers travel to other nearby cities in order to engage in such transactions. New adventurers may contact the mentors at Silverwood Manor in Wehnimer's Landing for assistance. (Type DIR for directions.) Societies: Societies are still available. Lockers: Lockers are still available. Houses/ALAE/Mentors: These organizations survived the fires. |

5/9/2002 | Locker Manifests Updated! |
Locker manifests are now updated and working with the new locker system! The one you
already own will still work, so there is no need to pick up a new one. Each city now
has a tab (page) within the manifest and a list of tabs is available by LOOKing at your
open manifest. You will also be able to see which tab it is currently turned to, and you
may flip through the pages using this syntax:
FLIP MANIFEST city name Where city name is optional but will go directly to the page for the city where the locker you wish to view is stored. If you do not specify a city name, it will simply flip to the next page. NOTE: If you have not used your locker under the new system yet, you will need to do that first before you can use the manifest. Also, please make sure to FLIP to a page before reading your manifest for the first time. You may get an unexpected response if you do not, but it will self-correct in any event. Enjoy! |

5/9/2002 | Premium Lockers! |
The Four Winds Halls are proud to announce some wonderful news for our members!
Over the course of the last few months, the Hall has contracted crews of construction
dwarves to work on the locker chambers of all Four Winds Hall members.
Now, Four Winds Hall members will have a locker chamber available in every town which provides lockers for public access or House Annexes. In addition, the new locker construction allows lockers from two towns to be swapped, as well as providing the member means to sort their items based on type. On behalf of the Four Winds Halls, enjoy the new locker chambers! Premium lockers allow for locker access in all towns simulataneously, unless the locker is currently being moved by the Paspartu brothers. Premium lockers can be swapped 1 for 1 while the other towns are still accessible, ie. the Wehnimers locker can be swapped (shipped) with the Icemule locker. At the same time the lockers in the other 6 towns will be fully accessible. The two town lockers that were swapped will not be accessible until the Paspartu brothers have finished up the shipping. Premium lockers contain 5 furniture items which can be used to sort items. When opening your locker you'll see these items appear from strange places. In addition to the 5 furniture items, the locker itself acts as a 'sorting' mechanism. When a player drops something into the locker it will be sorted and moved to the appropriate furniture item. Items placed in/on the furniture items will not be sorted. Don't be suprised when you type LOOK IN LOCKER and see nothing, as you'll find your belongs in or on the furniture items. |
